We hear of many people that they have ditched their brain fog along with toxins when they take nutrient rich foods and start juicing.
It’s no secret that diet plays an important role in brain health and juicing is a really fast way of taking nutrient rich foods. Not only will consuming fruits and vegetables provide us – and our aging parents – with nutrition, these are also foods that could help prevent Alzheimer’s disease and other types of dementia. There are some vegetables that are especially helpful for optimising brain health.
Drinking beetroot juice increases blood flow to the brain in older people, and a new study shows that this wonderful vegetable may also fight the progression of dementia. Studies have shown that nitrites (also found in high concentrations in celery, cabbage, and other leafy, green vegetables like spinach) both widen blood vessels and also increase blood flow to the brain, which helps with mental performance. Daniel Kim-Shapiro, PhD, director of the Translational Science Center at Wake Forest University, says in a news release. “There are areas in the brain that become poorly perfused as you age, and that is believed to be associated with dementia and poor cognition. Drinking Beetroot juice increases the blood flow to the brain and may therefore help fight dementia. ”

Blueberries Can Help Maintain Brain Function and Improve Memory.
With their high levels of gallic acid, blueberries protect the brain from degeneration and stress. Oxidative stress can accelerate the brain’s aging process, resulting in negative effects on brain function.
According to animal studies, the antioxidants in blueberries seem to accumulate in areas of the brain that are essential for intelligence (1, 2). They appear to directly interact with aging neurons, resulting in improvements in cell signalling.
Human studies have also shown promising results. In one of these studies, 9 elderly participants with mild cognitive impairment drank blueberry juice every day. After 12 weeks, they had seen improvements in several markers of brain function (3).
Also, a six year study of 16,010 elderly participants found that blueberries and strawberries were linked to delays in cognitive aging by up to 2.5 years (4).

Dark Leafy Green – wheatgrass Juice
With bright green leaves like kale, chard, spinach, and romaine lettuce and wheatgrass juice, we may keep dementia at bay. A 2015 study (Health Day News) found that a serving of dark leafy greens a day can help the aging brain. They discovered that adults who ate one or two servings of leafy green veggies a day had slower mental deterioration than those who ate no vegetables.
