Are green powders better than multivitamins?

Multivitamins and green powders are often seen as a ‘quick fix’ – a convenient way to take vitamins and minerals on the run when you have a busy lifestyle.

But unfortunately, our bodies have simply not evolved in a way that enables them to derive all its nutrients from a pill; the simple act of chewing stimulates enzymes in the digestive system which enable us to derive the maximum nutritional benefits from the food we’ve just eaten, which typically doesn't happen with a pill or powder.

Multivitamins are also typically synthetically produced, and our bodies find it much easier to absorb natural nutrients, rather than those made in a laboratory.

Green powders can be derived from a natural substance, but the processing they undergo squeezes water and fibre out, so even if you take powders, you should still need to eat green vegetables to replace the fibre they lack!

They may also contain additives you’d rather not consume, such as artificial colouring, grain fillers, sugars to improve the taste and additional vitamins originating from animal products.

So to decide which is better is a tricky job, however, you can rest assured there are no hidden ‘nasties’ lurking in our raw organic wheatgrass juice! It is nutrient-rich, containing high levels of vitamins A, B5, B12 and E and chlorophyll, plus minerals, enzymes and amino acids, to support a healthy diet.

What it doesn’t contain is artificial colours, flavours, sugars or preservatives, plus it’s 100% vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free.

And as far as convenience goes, what could be easier than removing your raw wheatgrass juice from the freezer, allowing it to defrost and then drinking it neat or with water or juice?
