We don’t usually pay our gut much attention until there is a problem and even then, we often ignore it or get an over-the-counter remedy.
BUT we should pay our gut more attention as when it’s not working properly, we don’t absorb all the nutrients we consume. This can result in becoming de-energised, lethargic and at risk of developing further complications

If you have severe symptoms the first place to visit is your doctor, however, there are many things you can do to help your gut naturally. These include:
Eating a gut-friendly diet
Include plenty of fruits and vegetables, fermented foods, whole grains, ginger and wheatgrass juice
Eating slowly
Digestion starts in the mouth, and chewing helps produce saliva, which begins to break down our food. By breaking down the food before it reaches our stomach our stomachs have less work to do so are less likely to be upset.
Getting plenty of sleep
Having an uninterrupted sleep of 7 to 8 hours will have a positive impact on your overall health. Sleep gives the body time to heal and relax. Sleep allows the mind to rest and recuperate. Sleep also allows for a time of fasting to occur, which has great benefits for gut health and balance.
Staying hydrated
Drinking at least 2 litres of fluid a day is great for digestive health. Fluid helps to swell fibre so makes you feel full for longer. It's also essential for breaking down foods and helping us absorb the nutrients.
