What are superfoods? - Britt's Superfoods

What are superfoods?

We often hear the term ‘superfood’ used in nutrition discussions – but what does it actually mean?

The website Medical News Today defines it as ‘foods that offer maximum nutritional benefits for minimal calories. They are packed with vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants, noting that most superfoods are plant-based '

A more widely accepted generic description is that a superfood is a food with some health benefits.

Consuming superfoods that are packed with nutrients is certainly a good idea but, they should be consumed as part of a balanced diet. Drinking the occasional wheatgrass juice will not undo the harmful effects caused by a diet that is mostly based on junk food!

Wheatgrass juice is considered a superfood and has many proven benefits.

  • It supports a healthy immune system
  • Supports healthy skin
  • Is an excellent anti-oxidant
  • Supports a healthy digestive system
  • Increases vitality and provides a tangible energy boost

Making our raw wheatgrass juice part of your daily routine is a great way to boost your health.
