What are the best superfoods for the brain?

A good Mediterranean style diet is good for the brain, people who consume a diet high in fish, leafy green vegetables, nuts, and plant proteins are less likely to develop cognitive impairment. In fact, research has shown that this type of diet can slow down cognitive decline in adults and can help improve brain function.

Dark chocolate containing cocoa has flavonoids which can improve blood flow to the brain. This anti-inflammatory effect can aid memory, improve focus and reduce mental decline. Antioxidants are especially important for brain health, as the brain is highly susceptible to oxidative stress. If you need an excuse to eat chocolate this is it, just make sure it has at least 70% cocoa!
